John Stokes, Esq.

John M. Stokes has over 30 years experience and over 300 jury trials from jury selection and opening statement through closing argument and verdict.

Mr. Stokes attended the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1983 majoring in Economics and Russian. While a student at UF, he was active in Student Government and served as President of the Student Senate. He was also Captain of the Debate Team and won numerous debate and forensic championships while representing the University of Florida. Mr. Stokes was also a member of Florida Blue Key.


He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 1986. While in law school Mr. Stokes focused his studies and interests in litigation and was selected for and competed on the Trial Team for the University of Florida.

Mr. Stokes is an active member in good standing of the Florida Bar and has remained so since 1987. He is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Florida and practices in Federal Court as well where he is a member of the United States District Court Northern and Middle Districts of Florida and is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court.


Mr. Stokes served as an Assistant State Attorney for over six (6) years and was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida College of Law for two (2) years. He also served as President of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association from 1998 to 1999.
